Cookie policy
Three cookies, all first party, none of them shared with anyone. This page lists every one and what it is for.

The two categories
When you first arrive you are asked to choose. There are two groups, and only one of them is a choice:
Strictly necessary
Always on. These remember your cookie choice and keep operators signed in to the dashboard. Without them the site would ask you the same question on every page. They cannot be switched off, and they do nothing else.
Marketing
Off unless you turn it on. Accepting sets one first-party cookie that recognises your browser on a later visit, so we can tell a returning reader from a new one and see which pages bring people back. No third party receives it, and there is no advertising network on this site.
Every cookie this site can set
| Name | Category | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
rw_consent | Strictly necessary | Records which cookie categories you accepted, so you are not asked again on every page. | 12 months |
rw_vid | Marketing | A random identifier that lets us recognise your browser on a later visit, so returning-visitor figures are accurate. It contains no personal information and is never shared. | 12 months |
rw_admin | Strictly necessary | Keeps a RampWorks operator signed in to the site dashboard. It is only ever set after signing in at /dashboard, so it never reaches an ordinary visitor. | Session, up to 12 hours |
All three are first party — set by rampworks.au and readable only by rampworks.au. This site loads no third-party script, no advertising pixel and no social embed.
How visits are counted without a cookie
Whether or not you accept marketing cookies, our own server records that a page was viewed. That record holds the page address, the site you arrived from, and whether you were on a phone, tablet or desktop.
It does not hold your IP address. Your address is converted into a one-way value mixed with a secret and the current date, used to spot abuse of the contact form and then discarded. Because the date is part of it, the same address produces a different value tomorrow, so the record cannot be used to follow anyone over time. Page addresses are stored without their query strings, so nothing typed into a URL is retained.
Records are kept for 400 days and then deleted automatically.
Changing your mind
You can revisit the choice at any time — nothing is final.
Turning marketing off deletes the rw_vid cookie immediately. You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser, or browse with cookies blocked entirely; the site is built to work either way.
