Overview
The master record for every piece of ground support equipment: identity, location, lifecycle, fuel type, make and model. Every work order, refuel entry and health check hangs off an entry here, which is why getting the registry right is the highest-leverage setup work in the platform.
Step by step
Work through these in order the first time. After that, steps two to four are the daily loop.
Establish the asset ID convention first
The asset ID is the key everything else joins on. Agree the format across stations before the first bulk upload — renaming later means re-pointing history.
Bulk load, do not hand-key
Download the template, fill it from whatever register you have today, and upload. The import upserts, so re-uploading a corrected sheet updates rather than duplicates.
Set asset type deliberately
Asset type is not just a label — it maps to a checklist key, which decides the inspection items an asset receives and which PMI groups pick it up. An asset with the wrong type gets the wrong inspection.
Keep lifecycle status current
Out-of-service equipment that is still marked operational inflates every availability number on the dashboard. Update the status when equipment is withdrawn, not at the end of the quarter.
Export for the fleet review
Filter to the station and asset type under discussion and export to Excel or PDF. The export carries the filters, so what you see is what you send.
Notes from the field
Behaviour that is easy to miss from the interface alone.
